A Hero's Way

Technical writer turned front-end developer

Making complex things clear and usable.

From trophy guides to front-end development, clarity has been the through-line.

Explore my journey

I started writing trophy guides after finding inefficient or abandoned resources—and changed requirements that existing guides never covered. Improving that experience grew into years of hands-on UX/UI work, then into front-end development and systems thinking.

2018–2025

Documentation & UX/UI

Started writing guides in late 2018. Developed my approach to usable, maintainable documentation on TrueTrophies (2018–2024) and Blogger (2020–2025).

Sep 2025–May 2026

Web & mobile development

Began formal study, then continued through self-directed learning as my pace and learning style moved beyond the coursework.

Sep 2025–Oct 2026

Systems thinking

Developed the structural framework behind my portfolio, connecting content, interface, and the systems that support them.

System Update — Streamlined Trophy Layout

I’ve made some improvements to the trophy guide layout to keep things fast, clean, and easy to use. A few features that were previously in development have been removed because they added extra steps without providing meaningful benefits to players.

What Changed?

  • Tags removed — Trophy tags (Story, Grind, Online, etc.) have been retired. All important context is already explained directly in each trophy’s description, making tags unnecessary and reducing page clutter.
  • Checkboxes removed — Manual “Earned” checkboxes have been removed. The guide already includes dynamic filtering options (show/hide earned trophies, DLC grouping, search, etc.), so manual checkmarks were redundant and added extra clicking for players.
  • Roadmap removed — The roadmap section has been phased out. Trophy order varies by game and player preference, and the guide’s filtering and grouping tools already make navigation simple without a fixed sequence.

Why These Features Were Removed

The goal of the guide is to stay fast, readable, and efficient. Some features looked helpful at first, but in practice they added extra steps, slowed down updates, and made the layout heavier without improving the experience.

By simplifying the structure, the guide now loads faster, scrolls smoother, and is easier to maintain. All essential information is still present — just in a cleaner, more direct format.

What’s Still Here

  • Full trophy descriptions
  • Dynamic filtering (earned/unearned, DLC, search)
  • Clear grouping and organization
  • Fast loading and improved performance

Thank you for using the guides! These changes help keep everything lightweight, accessible, and focused on what matters most: completing the trophies.
